Learn to Fly From a Historic Island Airfield

Hall’s Aviation is committed to developing the finest flight training experience in Southeast Michigan — and it all started right here at Grosse Ile Municipal Airport. With roots stretching back to a 1929 Naval Air Station that served pilots through World War II, this airport carries a deep aviation legacy. Today, that tradition lives on through our professional training programs and a community of passionate aviators.

Located on the southern tip of Grosse Ile in Wayne County, our Grosse Ile campus offers two well-maintained concrete runways, scenic waterfront flying along the Detroit River and Lake Erie, and easy access from Downriver communities including Trenton, Woodhaven, Wyandotte, and Riverview. Train in a unique airspace environment — learning to navigate near Detroit’s Class B airspace and the Canadian border builds real-world skills you won’t get at every flight school.

Safety is our foundation, and every program we offer is built around professionalism, quality instruction, and a genuine passion for aviation. Whether you want to fly recreationally or pursue a professional aviation career, our structured training paths and experienced instructors will guide you every step of the way.
